jiH muS Hov veS!!!

My fear is that one day my son will be able to read that! Being that he tends to take everything literally, he will probably point out the grammatical errors and then point out the paradox of universal realities. *sigh* Totally oblivious to the intended joke.

This afternoon there was a heated argument in my living room as the kids played Lego Star Wars.

BFF: That's not Bubba Fat. That's Jango, his dad.
Burp: Boba Fett. And it's not really his dad, he's a clone and Boba just thinks Jango's his dad.
BFF: But Jango raised Bubba, so close enough.
(Ohhhh afraid not, my young Padawan. There is no "close enough".)
Burp: But Boba Fett is a clone.
BFF: ...and Bubba saved his dad from Obi One.
Burp: Boba. Obi-Wan... Ben Kenobi is the best Jedi. I am Obi-Wan.
BFF: Obi One was NOT the best Jedi. Anakin Skywalker was the best Jedi.
Burp: HE WENT OVER TO THE DARK SIDE!!
BFF: So what, that was Palpatine's fault. Anakin was the best!
Burp: HE CHOSE THE DARK SIDE!
Mom: Wrong, you are both. The strongest, fastest, and wisest, Yoda is.
Burp: MOM!!

Apparently moms have no place in arguments like this. If these were adults I would have just called them Trekkies and feigned ignorance as their faces turned purple with rage... Luckily, as of yet, they have no clue what Star Trek is. Good God, I hope it stays that way!

His reaction is kind of like that when Ducky tells him McDonald's burned down.

Who woulda thunk that 30 plus years later, a scifi movie would continue to spark heated debate between 8 year olds playing with legos? I mean really who'da thunk it? If he dons a Data officer's uniform and starts going to renaissance fairs you will be doubly in trouble. Yikes! that would be triply in trouble.

Too funny.

Renaissance fairs are probably in his near future... as soon as he discovers they exist, I would imagine, He's always had an obsession with just about anything medieval. And he loves to play dress up.
However, if he ever wears a Trek uniform, I don't care who's, he's toast!

Seriously? Who the Hell thinks Anakin Skywalker was the best Jedi? He was an emo little shit. Burp's BFF needs to develop a sense of taste. At least Burp's opinion of Obi-Wan has some merit - I still reckon the best jedi is Yoda. Little green ass-kicking machine. And FU and your comments on Star Trek. Excepting TOS (and I'm a huuuuuge minority in saying that), it's a wonderfully fun francise.

Tandy you really had to see Big Bang Theory to truely get all aspects of the Star Trek / Rennasiance fair reference.
